Anna was in her room, and was about to head to the shops, she needed to purchase some food and of recent she felt she had no wearable clothes and so she put her mind to find some more. Whilst reading various fashion magazines, she had quite fancied herself wearing vintage style clothing and alot of florals. Her wardrobe currently help alot of bright colours and tee's with graphics printed on them, cardigans and shirts of course where something she could not bare to part with, as well as that jumper she wore today, her bumblebee jumper, as she called it. Many of her friends said only she could pull it off, and they were right, anna couldn't imagine anyone else looking quite so good in the stripey item. after dropping her small and fashionable phone and keys to her hotel room into her bag, she made her way to the door, and made a small jog down the stairs at the end of the plainly decorated hallway. As she walked through reception, she smiled at the doorman, goodbye, george she beamed, her scottish accent heavy compaired to his british one, Goodmorning, Miss Lakes
[/i] He grinned, his fragile old face geniuinly pleased to have some respect. Anna then made her way to the bus stop, were she only had to wait a few minuits before the red vehicle came around the corner, were she hopped on and brought a return ticket. She headed straight to the back were she sat alone for the rest of the bus ride, although it was only ten minuits long there was enough to think about hte pros and cons of the area she was staying, adn realised that it wasn't so bad.. After shopping in tesco for not even a quater of an hour for her food grocceries and other neccesities, anna walked a little while down the street where she reached h&m, one of her favourite shops at that time. Anna often surprised herself how quickly it took her to get used to an area, and how she already felt like she knew the area quite well. H&M was quite busy and anna wasn't too fussed about queing up to try on an item she knew would fit, a pretty mid-thigh length dress in a denim coloured cotton, with pleats down the chest. She knew just the belt and bag back at the hotel to go with it, and was certain the size would be perfect. Anna couldnt put her finger on it, but knew she always had this thrill when she shopped, even when alone. After she purchased the garment, she headed towards Starbucks, she was thirsty and was having a real craving for a frappichino, strawberry shortcake was her favourite. After lining up in the usual rediculoulsy long queue and paying an excive ammount for her beverage, she looked around for an empty table, usually a difficult task when in starbucks. There, in the corner, two chairs, one free table. Silently 'shot gunning' it, she practically ran there, but as she placed her cold cup down, another was placed down next to hers. she looked up and smiled almost sarcastically, sorry, i was here first she then saw who she was talking to, a young and cute face looking back at her, We could sit together? She offered, not sure what was coming over her. [/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGGED: ELI ?! WORDS: FIVE HUNDRED AND TWENTY SIX ?! NOTES: I HOPE THIS IS OKAY, I WASN'T EXACTLY SURE WHAT TO WRITE ?! "You can join the millions talking in the dark. Or you can stand up and scream light, out into the night." Today hadn't went as planned but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Eli's class for today had been canceled which meant he wasn't going to be spending a good portion of his day writing down every recipe he had used this week. However the fact that Eli had only found this out when he was half way through his train ride to the campus was enough to put a little cloud of a bad mood into his head. The phone that had brought him this annoying news was stuffed quickly back into his pocket and for the rest of the journey he let his head rest against the cool glass of the window. When the train stopped currently dark haired boy was among the first to get off and climb up the stairs into the warm spring air.
It wasn't often that the nineteen year old would smoke in public. In fact, it wasn't often he smoked at all but he always kept a pack on him. He didn't do it as a form of stress relief like a lot of people did. To Elijah it was a comfort. That bitter smokey smell never failed to remind him of his childhood and how his father smelled when he'd come home from work. Now he pulled the little cardboard rectangle from his jacket pocket, quickly followed by a bright red plastic lighter. Once lit the cigarette only lasted about a minute and only two or three shallow draws were taken from it before it was dropped on the pavement among the rest of the butts, discarded gum and litter. As always Eli took care to stamp out the red glow of the embers that he left behind.
With no more than a faint but reassuring smell of the smoke lingering around him Elijah set his mind to working out what to do with the rest of the day, or at least till he could get on a train to take him home. There was a starbucks further down the street that he had often visited with classmates. That seemed like a good option right now. They knew him there and most of the staff could get his usual order together without him even asking. None the less after entering the building and joining the cue he slipped out his little notebook and pen from the other pocket of his jacket and scribbled down what he would like. After a short wait he was handed his coffee and was off to look for a table.
The one he'd decided on had been empty when he seen it but clearly someone else had spotted it as well. Quickly he picked his cup up again with an apologetic smile as he heard an unfamiliar voice telling him the table was taken. Only a second later did he recognize the accent that wasn't far from the one he'd grown up with. It had been a while since he'd heard a Scottish accent around here other than that of his best friend and flatmate, Ross. The pretty redhead spoke again and Eli nodded tentatively. New people always made him nervous but there was something about this girl he couldn't help but feel secure around. Carefully he set the coffee down again with his notebook and pen next to it before sitting himself down on one of the chairs.
As neatly as possible to wrote down I'M ELIJAH. IT'S NICE TO MEET YOU.
[/color] with a shy smile he slid the paper across the table and watched closely for the girls reaction to this form of greeting. tags:annananner word count: 595 credit: i wrote this for you notes: Sorry this is a bit rambly. I did however have a thought. Elijah had a big sister who died, maybe anna could remind him of her in some ways? (he already thinks they look sorta alike, he just doesn't realize it.)[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Anna smiled a little, not sure whether or not this cutie of a guy noticed or not, although she would have felt better if he did, something made her want to be his friend, something more than before made him want to impress him. She pulled the notebook closer to her that he passed her, at first a little confused as to why he didn't speak, but it soon dawned on her that perhaps he really couldn't, and that made her feel sad, he looked so young and felt it was unfair that he could not express himself with words, a powerfull force that can make or break relationships with people. Anna knew she could be a bitch, but at times she could be caring. At Time Elijah.. She said with a grin, rolling the name of her tounge in her scottish accent, trying out his name in her mouth, It's nice to meet you too, i'm anna. How are you? She introduced herself, reaching out for her cup and taking in a long sip, letting the cool pink frappichino melt a little in her mouth, before swalling it down, and feeling it slide down her throat, a pleasant feeling. She raised her hand and fluffed her hair out, a habbit that had become somewhat subcontious in her day to day life. Her mother and father used to hate it, and she used to hate them for shouting their annoyance that all her attentions went on her hair. That was probably one of the reasons she decided to come and relocate in london, she wanted to get away from the parents that would not understand her need to feel young and enjoy life. She leant forwards a little and looked Eli straight in the eye, her left hand supporting her chin I don't want to sound rude, She started, a slight pause, feeling a little guilty for bringing it up, But why wont you talk? Are you a mute? A moment passed, it could have been seconds but it felt like alot longer, I'm okay with, by the way.

"You can join the millions talking in the dark. Or you can stand up and scream light, out into the night." It was nice hearing her say his name. Her accent wasn't exactly like his should have been but it was close enough to remind him for a second the the girls he'd known back home. It hadn't been long since he'd been home. He'd been up at christmas in fact but that didn't mean he couldn't miss the security that familiar things could provide. With his pen poised in his right hand he gave Anna a little smile, a smile that was much more relaxed than any of the previous ones he had shown her. Carefully slid the black covered notebook back to his side of the table and turned it again to begin writing his response.
He hadn't got more than a few words down when the girl spoke again. The natural red head looked up and tilted his ever so slightly to the left. This gesture was accompanied with a curious expression although deep down he had a feeling he knew what was coming.
And there it was. The question he was so used to hearing but had never quite got used too. For an instant his nose scrunched up like that of a little boy who had been just been told to behave. In that second, if you were playing close enough attention, it could have become painfully obvious just how child like the teenager was at times. Regaining self awareness he defaulted to a blank expression which quickly turned into a slight frown. He nodded. Lowered his eyes back to the paper and kept writing. I'm fine. Thank you. Classes were canceled today. How about you, Anna? (You have a pretty name)
[/color] With that he slid the book back toward the girl, hoping that this was enough to distract her from the subject of speaking, or lack there of. With his part of the conversation being read he picked up his drink and took a mouthful. Smile returning to his lips. tags:annananner word count: 326 credit: i wrote this for you notes: shy baby is shy about some subjects.[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]

That feeling you get as a kid came flooding back to her, the one where you know you've done something wrong, you've broken something or hurt someone, right in the pit of one's stomach. The look on Eli's face, the scrunched up nose was so adorably heartbreaking. It was the sort of thing you could see and just know you don't try to do it again. Anna swore to herself not to bring it up again, thinking more and more how hard it must be for the boy to be so stuck in his own world of emotion. Anna would probably go mad with frustration of being so trapped, never being able to shout out when you need to. She tried a day of silence once, or more her class at school forced her too, adn gave money she raised to charity. She could hardly bare it, not even lasting the whole day, She couldn't see how the boy could manage a whole life of it. Anna's mind hurt. Anna smiled a little as she placed her hand on the notebook and twisted it slightly so she could read it more comfortably. She had to admit even though being Mute must be torture, the process of reading notes was interesting. She liked to see his writing, and watching the time and care taken to write his words down, and knowing that he could backtrack and cross something out if he changed his mind. It was like the erase button on words that everybody longed for at some point to just go back and stay silent. Anna wished she could have used that only half a minuit before. She laughed as she read about his classes, Cancelled, eh? And you hit the shops, nice one, lad! She smiled slightly as she read his compliment, feeling a little embarrassed inside, but trying not to show it aah, thanks, Eli. I think your name is soo cute! my last name is Lakes. it's really stupid, actually, but i guess i'll have to deal with that until i get married someday! Umm... Yes, i am good thank you. My day has consisted of groceries and shopping. I woke up today and just could not bare to wear a thing in my wardrobe. it was distressing. She said with a look that appeared serious, but was overwritten by a smile. So, Eli, she said, realising that because he hadn't used his voice, she didn't know as much about him as someone who would. Usually you could deduce their hometown and how at ease they where with their loudness or softness in thier voice. Eli hadn't spoken at at the moment remained a mysterious cutie-pie with an unknown history, when Anna was quite obviously from Scottland. Her accent hid nothing. Where do come from? Where'd Baby-Eli grow up? She said with a chuckle at her own humour, something few people understood.

"You can join the millions talking in the dark. Or you can stand up and scream light, out into the night." For now Elijah was taking his time. Forming each letter of each word carefully in print like writing but that was not always the case. Once the bottle brunette was comfortable in your presence he would start relaxing into his own handwriting with little loops and swirls joining the words together. Not to forget the times when he got excited or anxious and then you were forced to try and decipher quickly scribbled words that barely even looked like anything at all.
His red headed companion laughed and he laughed too. It was a curious sight. Like watching a movie with the sound turned off. The boy made every little movement you would expect from little giggle yet none of the sound came out. He gave a polite nod, validating her theory although if he had chosen to he could have informed her that he was just killing time till the next train home. Sitting the warm, white mug down on the table he casually lent his elbows on the wood and crossed his fore arms. Torso dipped forward just slightly as he listened to her, occasionally losing focus on her words and just drinking in the familiar tones of her voice.
It took a lot of restraint not to react to the word baby. A word that was often used to describe Elijah but he had never been happy about. This was different. She was asking about when he was a baby. That was okay. A tiny little smile tugged at the corners of his mouth while he pulled his notebook back toward himself and wrote down the name of the place he'd grown. Islay. Just off the coast of Scotland. The last part was wrote automatically but he quickly put a single line through it. She should know, right? He set the pen down and spun the book around for her to read.

Anna thougth back to her childhood, remembering living by the seaside in her little town. It wasn't exactly a seaside town, there wasn't many tourists and only the residents seemed to walk around. Everybody knew everybody, and gossip spread fast, but the lack of activity and movement in the quiet scottish city was incredibly boring for the tweenage anna, growing up with her friends, who wanted to shop and run around having fun, but the winding streets held no secrets and the many terraced houses were no fun. It was those factors which probably put her off the countryside for life, and put forth more reasons to move to london; the city that always had something going on, new people to meet and so much excitement, so many bright lights and beautiful houses ( although she still hadn't quite got away from the terraced homes)and most importantly, clubs. Places where she could spend her valued friday nights in her ever-shortening young-adult life. Anna drummed her fingers on the table as Eli handed her the notebook. She leant forwards adn almost choked on the air as she read what it said. Islay! She explaimed, her jaw litterally dropping with astonishment. She went on to explain, I lived like..litterally less than a few hours away from there! Never been to Islay, but I used to live in Port Riddell, near Dunoon! That is so weird, we were like over 50 miles away! Anna laughed, once more ruffleing her her and sweeping it slightly backwards, but for it only to fall back again in its usual rutiene. I can't beleive i've met you. it's kinda weird, She smiled slightly, the sort of smile she gave to those she wanted to make out with, but she didn't exactly look at Eli. She looked at his eyes, sort of shy at what she was going to say. It's like we were ment to meet.

"You can join the millions talking in the dark. Or you can stand up and scream light, out into the night." Childhood was something Elijah had never really gotten a chance to leave behind. From the age of eight he had been brought up by his somewhat over protective aunt. I suppose you could say he'd led a sheltered life in his beautiful little corner of the world. In the empty few seconds he had between passing his side of the conversation to his pretty companion and her reading the words he took an other drink from the tall white cup that sat beside him.
Those bright blue eyes of his lit up when she got excited over what she had read. The smile on his face growing bigger as she explained just how close they had grown up. Elijah knew all those places well, by name at least. He hadn't spent as much time as the other kids his age had going to the mainlands for various activities. How ever it was certain he'd passed through at least once or twice over the years.
With an other quick swallow of his coffee Elijah stretched out to pull his notebook back to him. This time picking it up and turning the page before setting it back down and writing carefully. It's nice to meet someone from home.
[/color] The pen stayed in his hand and he had started to pass the book back across but he suddenly pulled it back to him. Offering a apologetic smile before lowering his eyes to the paper and adding. Have you been here long? It's really different, isn't it?[/color] tags:annananner word count: 253 credit: i wrote this for you notes: brain dead[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Anna could feel her heart beating fast in her chest. She didn't know why, but this was turnng into one of the most exciting conversations everywhere. She hated to admit it, but this new guy was genuinely lovely and she wanted to make a good impression, something she never really cared about when in a club, grinding up against some well dressed pretty guy. The thought of dancing like that with Eli made her feel unsettled inside, it just didn't seem right. But still, it made a difference to have a friend she didn't meet through alcohol and heavy dance beats. Anna took a slow and steady sip of her drink while she watched as he wrote carefully down what he wanted to say , and sat up slightly as he pushed th ebook towards her. But he pulled it back towards his chest, with an apologettic glance back up at her, he added another sentance, before giving it a little shove, letting it glide back acrross the table, where Anna gladly read it. She played with the ends of her firey hair as she read what he had written, his handwritting beautifully swirly but still milatary-like straight. She thought back to the beggining of the year, 2012. She had spent new year in London, but was barely settled in. I think it's been almost a year! would you beleive that only last September i was packing up to leave?" She asked, even though she knew it wouldnt make a difference to him either way, " it is very different, but i love it. i always kinda hated the quiteness of Scottland. I love how fashionable and fast london is, dont you? i'd been litterally dying to get away for years! She paused, No offence if you liked scottland, of course. it's a nice place, afterall. Its just that this is where i am ment to be! i'm worth the drama.. i am the drama, sometimes, and it is awesome.. but i dont wanna sound vain! She laughed.
