S C H O O L . S Y S T E M [/size][/font][/b] the english schooling system is quite different to that of america or any other countries. here's the run down for you.
play school this is basically for any child/toddler under the age of four.
primary school english primary school system goes as follows: reception (4 -5 years old) year one - (5 - 6 years old) year two (6 - 7 years old) year three (7 - 8 years old) year four (8 - 9 years old) year five (9 - 10 years old) year six (10 - 11 years old)
secondary school year seven (11 - 12 years old) year eight (12 - 13 years old) year nine (13 - 14 years old) year ten (14 - 15 years old) year eleven (15 - 16 years old)
if they don't go to collage, they enter a stage known as sixth form, which is collage subjects within their current school
year twelve/lower sixth (16 - 17 years old) year thirteen/upper sixth (17 - 18 years old)
collage first year (16 - 17 years old) second year (17 - 18 years old)
university most courses last for two to three years, but things like doctorates can be as long as five or more years.
